Quebec lumber that is stamped S-P-F is the type most commonly used in Canada’s construction sector. Knots in this wood are small, thus making it easier to process this product and keep waste to a minimum. In terms of resistance, Quebec S-P-F lumber complies with, North American grading standards. As a result, Canadian and American lumber can be used interchangeably anywhere in the United States.
Quebec specializes in small-size wood, and is well known for the strength of its slow-growing tree species. Moreover, the geographic proximity of Quebec to the eastern United States allows for short delivery times and very competitive transportation costs.
